Oh… hello there! I bet you’re wondering how these two lovebirds met.&nbsp; Well, grab a seat, and let’s rewind to the year 2020. There was a handsome young stallion named Matt and a beautiful young girl named Brianna. At the time, they both worked at Menards—on opposite ends of the store, living separate lives, unaware that fate was quietly weaving their story together. Matt was one of the receiving yard managers in the back of the building, while Brianna worked upstairs in cabinets and appliances. Each day, they would cross paths briefly—a quick smile, a simple hello—but nothing more. Occasionally, on slower workdays, they’d chat for a few minutes, slowly getting to know each other. But life had them in different places with different people, so their story didn’t begin just yet. By the end of 2021, both left Menards to pursue new careers, not knowing what was waiting for them down the road. Fast forward to the summer of 2022. A going-away party for a former coworker brought them back together at Set ’Em Up in Griffith. When they saw each other, it felt easy—like catching up with an old friend. They laughed, played bags, and talked for hours. As the night ended, Matt asked for her Snapchat. After a week of talking and a few fun dates, life pulled them in different directions again, and they lost touch that August… Until January 2, 2023. That’s when Matt reached out to Brianna again, just to see how she’d been. One date turned into two, two turned into three, and soon they were talking about everything under the sun. Their spark slowly grew into a flame, and before they knew it, they were spending nearly every weekend—and then almost every day—together. On February 27, Matt officially asked Brianna to be his girlfriend. After she said “yes,” both of them were grinning ear to ear, but there was something else they each wanted to say. They were nervous, unsure who would say it first. I’m sure you can guess… but Matt said it first: “I love you.” Brianna didn’t hesitate for a second—she said it right back. The smiles on their faces said it all… even if it did make Matt late to his midnight shift for the first time ever! By August, Brianna had moved in, and life together became their new normal. Coming home after long days, sharing laughter, tears, little victories, and big dreams—they were each other’s safe place. Through good days and bad, their love kept growing, quietly and steadily, with every moment they shared. And then, on December 22, 2024, in the icy winter air beside Lake Michigan, surrounded by family and friends, Matt asked Brianna to be his forever. Now, here we are—looking forward to June 27, 2026, the day they will say “I do.” A day filled with love, laughter, and memories to last a lifetime.
